Crucial to the Fair's success was the inclusion of gang involved youth. Working with El Centro del Pueblo and the Central City Action Committee, the two prominent social service organizations working with youth to lead lives made by positive choices, the Fair was successful despite the dire warning by the police who stated that "blood would flow in the streets."
