Frida In Los Angeles
In the summer of 1938 Hollywood film actor Edward G. Robinson and his wife were vacationing in Mexico City. While there he visited the studio of famed Mexican artist Diego Rivera, Kahlo’s husband. Rivera, who always championed the work of his wife, showed Robinson several of her paintings. Mr. Robinson purchased 4 at $200 each. So naturally, Frida would visit Robinson’s handprints and footprints at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.
