The Photograms
The creation of a photogram allows a photograph to become a unique art piece in which no negative exists of the final image.
These photograms - the Bottle Series and Yoko Ono's "Breathe" series - were created in the darkroom by placing items on the paper and then exposing it to the negative.
The placed items prevent light from reaching the paper and a white outline appears. Or, as in the case of the Bottle Series, the glass bottles distorted the light making it bleed onto the paper.
The Bottle Series explores the swirling effects - physical and emotional - of too much drink.
The Yoko Ono "Breathe" series is just pop art. I did make 8 of each image, thus a series, but each individual photogram is slightly different, as the placing of the letters could never be exact.
Enjoy!
