Frida In Los Angeles: Forest Lawn
Digital Collage
16 X 20
2014

During her stay on Catalina Island in the home of Mrs. Ada Wrigley, Frida was urged by her host to visit Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale. Mrs. Wrigley believed Frida would enjoy viewing the beautiful stained glass windows regardless of any religious beliefs the artist might have. To show her appreciation, Frida assured her generous hostess that she would visit the site. Frida was absolutely stunned by the artistry of the work – the immensity and colors in the Last Supper window reminded her of her husband’s own mural work in Mexico City. Frida took the time to reflect quietly on her journey to Los Angeles, as her visit was soon coming to an end.
